Christine + Simon

"Loving you is easy"

These words are still echoing in my ears from Christine + Simon , they are two of the most beautiful souls. The heritage brought from Simon's family was so special. Simon wore a bolo tie from Gallup, New Mexico from his father's friend who is part of the Pokagon, Potowatomi tribe and both wore Turquoise bracelets that were a gift from a family member.
I'll never forget this ceremony.. while Christine started to walk down the aisle with her father, the loudest crack of thunder echoed through the sky. It was wild. I wish I had the audio to the images, because it was just magical. The wedding vase used in their ceremony belonged to his Aunt Debbie Cayedito who is no longer with us. This is the best description of what it is: “One spout of the vessel represents the husband; the other, the wife. The looped handle represents the unity achieved with marriage. The space created within the loop represents the couples’ own circle of life.” There was actually tea in the vase that they both individually drank and then drank together. We did get hit with the down pour as soon as the ceremony ended, but only for about 15 minutes. Thank God for amazing friends, as one of my good girlfriends was a guest at the wedding and grabbed my umbrellas for me just as the ceremony started.
Both of the families were incredible, artistic and unique. So many beautiful things were constantly happening. So many smiles, laughs and watching Arnold, their pup, run around so happy, songs were sang by Simon's family and Simon himself sang to his bride. And as the evening came to a close, we chased the sunset.

Love is magic.

THE YEAR 2017

Where to begin..

First with so much gratitude, to the people who have believed in me and continue to push me forward <3

This has been the most successful, most challenging, adventurous, wildly out of control with love kinda year.

Why most successful and most challenging?

Hands down this is been the busiest year I have had.. like as busy as in my first two years of business combined. I learned a ton of new things, business wise and have had a ton of growth since last year. On the flip side of success comes challenges. Just like with everything else, it is balance. I worked myself to the point of no social life haha and a very isolated work space at home ( does sound amazing, right?) Well, it is and isn’t. I am not use to sitting down for half of my job, and literally not verbally talking to anyone for half my days ( besides singing songs to my kitty, go ahead judge me…) so for 2018, you’ll be catching me moving around more and being active, cycling, yoga, and beach volleyball are at the top of my list. So let’s play!

Adventure.

I was able to travel to two different mountain ranges in 2017, so incredibly fortunate for being able to travel with one of my best ladies MeghanMelia Photography out to Boulder, Colorado and yes we drove.. I hope you saw our infamous “ Fields and Fields and Fields” video). I was also so grateful  to take one of my adventurous 2018 couples to Asheville, North Carolina. Talk about filling my heart! The mountain air is like no other, the view and to be able to photograph in it was a dream. I want more. If you’re one of those adventurous couples, let’s go!

Besides going out of state to my favorite places besides our gorgeous Great Lakes here in Michigan, I was able to travel around our Mitten State and into Chicago. I am ALWAYS ready for new places and new faces, so reach out and let’s hang!

Wildly out of control with love.

Do I really need to explain that? I mean, c’mon. I have the most beautiful couples and the outpour of love radiating from them had been so exciting. Actually, I can’t even just say couples, all of my clients are so full of love, whether it is preparing for their wedding, adding a new member to their family, new business adventure or putting forth their creative flow.. it all shines in their images.

This is THE YEAR 2017!

Brandy + Dylan

I couldn't wait to see one of my long time friends marry his soulmate. Dylan is one of those guys who are friends with everyone, good at everything he touches and is just a hilarious person in general. Brandy is like a clone of Dylan, they are seriously soulmates. It down poured the night before the wedding at Inner Circle Estates. I remember arriving and Dylan with all of his guys, looked like a construction company.. they literally were working on how to rid the water that was trying to make a moat around this castle. Ok, maybe that is over exaggerating, but they really got creative with some wood chips. This venue is an estate out in the middle of nowhere Deckerville, Mi and is one of my favorites, low key, relaxed and built to look old and gorgeous.
